PRESS REGISTRATION FORM
Registration As Press Delegates
Registration of Press Delegates can be made on site in Rome or via the FIGO 2012 Portal within September 15th.
Press registration is free for all approved Press Delegates. The entire scientific programme during the meeting is open to registered press delegates as the Opening Ceremony, Evening for All and Closing Ceremony.
You must have a press ID or a Letter of Assignment from the Editor-in-Chief of a recognised news organisation to register as a Press Delegate for all FIGO 2012 activities. Business cards will not be accepted as a form of press identification.
Journalists reporting for online media outlets who wish to register as Press Delegates must work for news-making organisations that meet the following criteria:
• editorial content must be independent of advertising and sponsorship.
• advertising or industry sponsorship on the Website must be clearly identifiable as such.
Industry officials and their communication agents (i.e. marketing, advertising or public relations representatives) are not eligible for registration as Press Delegates.
FIGO 2012 Press Office reserves the right to deny Press Registration for anybody it feels does not meet these criteria.
Registered journalists must wear press badges at all times in the congress premises.
Camera crews filming in areas other than the Press Room or Press Conference Hall must contact the Press Office before filming.
Embargo Policies
For all results and presentations at sessions at FIGO 2012 the embargo is lifted at the beginning of the session at which it is presented, unless you are otherwise informed. A presentation at a press conference does not lift the embargo.
For the oral and poster abstract-based presentations, the embargo is lifted on Monday 8th of October at 7am GMT.
Any press and media representatives requesting to attend FIGO 2012 must accept this embargo policy in order to receive a press badge.
Breaking of the embargo policy by a Press Delegate leads to:
• immediate suspension of the reporter’s media credentials
• immediate barring of the reporter from the meeting premises
PLEASE NOTE: It is the responsibility of any journalists to obtain permission for photography or recording of any presentations during the FIGO 2012 congress. FIGO 2012 Press Office takes no responsibility for implications if permission is not requested.
Industry Press Activity Policies
Press briefings, other than those promoted by FIGO 2012 Press Office, are permitted; however, they cannot be held on site at the same time as a FIGO 2012 official press event.
Third parties wishing to conduct a Press Conference in Rome should contact FIGO Secretariat in advance at alexandra@figo.org
Third party press materials may be displayed in the Press Room in a dedicated corner. Third party press materials must be delivered to the staff in the FIGO 2012 Press Room who will display it. Third party press materials cannot make use of the FIGO 2012 logo unless this has been specifically approved by FIGO 2012 Press Office.
Third party press releases must clearly display the embargo date and time of the presentation at the FIGO 2012 congress. The company issuing the release assumes responsibility for ensuring embargoed releases are only distributed to reporters who will abide by the FIGO 2012 embargo policies.
